In this article we'll walk you through the process of integrating your SmarterSends instance with your Cordial account. There are a few steps we'll take you through but this can be accomplished in 15 minutes or less.
The items you'll need to create within your Cordial account include:
- An API Key with the correct permissions applied
- Define which fields a user can use within SmarterSends
In order to start the integration process, go ahead and log into both your Cordial account and your SmarterSends instance. We'll start in your Cordial account.
- In the top right corner of your Cordial account you'll see your Initial which will say Settings when you hover over your initial.
- Click your initial and select API Keys
- Click New
- Add the name of the API Key, "SmarterSends API"
- Add the SmarterSends IP address to the IP whitelist: 54.146.87.194
- Select the following permissions:

- Click Generate Key
- Copy the API Key and paste it into the SmarterSends Email Service Provider settings page.
- Select the endpoint for your Cordial account.
- If you access your Cordial account at:
- https://admin.cordial.io/ then select "api.cordial.io"
- https://usw2.admin.cordial.io/ then select "api.usw2.cordial.io"
- If you access your Cordial account at:
- Click the Test API Access button. If your settings are correct, you'll see a green check mark and now see an option to Restrict Import Fields.
- If you Restrict Import Fields, you can determine which attributes your users will be able to use as personalization tags.
