Get ready to supercharge your templates with dynamic content automatically added to your mailings based on the Group that is creating the mailing.
Marketing automation platforms are amazing tools that allow you to customize so much content based on the recipient. But one thing they seem to lack is the ability to easily customize a mailing based on who creates the mailing.
Picture a scenario where a non-profit has multiple locations/chapters each with their own address and social media links. With other solutions, you can either put all the data into a table within your ESP and pull it into a mailing based on the recipient but not the creator.
Now with our Group Content Area feature, this type of data can be added to a mailing based on the group that the mailing is created under.
Let's get started.
- Identify the types of information based on your template designs that should be customized by group/location/department.
- Within the Groups view, you'll find a button labeled "Manage Group Content Areas"
- Within this view you can Add New Content Area.
- The process to add a Group Content Area is the same as our standard content areas with lots of options regarding the type of content you would like to utilize.
- Once you've created some Group Content Areas, you have the ability to manage them with this same view:
- You can Edit or Delete Group Content Areas as needed. Note that if a GCA is used within any of your templates, you must remove the GCA from your templates before you can delete the content area in this screen.
- The next step is to add these group content areas to your templates. For text based Group Content Areas, you can add them to your template using the Merge Tags dropdown to find your GCA. Image based GCAs can be selected once you add an Image Area to your template.
- Now the last step is to define the values for each of the Groups setup within your instance.
- Give yourself a hand for super charging your templates! Now when a user creates a new mailing based on your template, the group content area values will automatically be added for you.
